A learning center is a place where students receive academic support, tutoring, and/or homework help. Huntington Learning Center in Elk Grove is an accredited learning center. We provide academic support in the core areas of phonics, reading comprehension, vocabulary, writing, and foundational math. Our students work on customized programs in either a 1:1 or 4:1 setting. We have many different kinds of academic programs depending on individual student needs. A 1st grader might be working on primarily phonics with some reading and math, while a middle school student might be solely focused on math and study skills.
Our staff are college graduates and accredited educators with a passion for helping students! Many are current or retired teachers, subs, paras, etc. in EGUSD or SCUSD. Some are also working toward higher degrees in education. As a team, we are united in our desire to see our students learn and succeed academically!
A student typically has 1.5-2 hour sessions each time they come in. During a session, they will work closely with a teacher on their individual customized program. We have hundreds of curriculum and other resources! Throughout their program at Huntington, a student will be assessed regularly to ensure they're making good progress and staff will provide periodic updates to parents.
